Community residents are invited to participate in the annual Advent Festival at the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell at 2:00 on Sunday, December 3. This free afternoon event offers the opportunity for both families and individuals to prepare for Christmas with a warm and welcoming congregation. Our festival falls on the first Sunday of Advent, the four-week season on the Christian calendar designed to get ready for celebrating Christmas.

Fifteen different craft stations will offer a variety of choices. All supplies are provided at no cost, and volunteer helpers will be on hand at each table.
The crafting sessions will end at 4:00 and will be followed by a brief devotional time noting the First Sunday of Advent, led by our Senior Pastor, Dr. Rick Sommers. The afternoon will conclude with a short carol sing.
Parents are encouraged to work with young children, as this is intended to be an opportunity to promote family togetherness. However, older children, teenagers, and adults will also find it fun to participate, alone or with a friend.
Intended as a Christmas gift from the church to the community, the Advent Festival is provided at no cost. However, participants are encouraged to bring canned goods or staple food items for the local food pantry so that our time together may become a gift to others, too.
It is necessary to pre-register by no later than noon, Nov. 29, so that enough materials can be made ready for each craft. You can register for the event by clicking the link below and filling out the online form. You can also register during the Coffee Hour which follows the 10:00 AM Sunday worship service, or by calling the church office at 973-228-0310.
