Mission Programs

First Presbyterian Church sponsors several hands-on mission programs during the year.  Recent events have included volunteering at soup kitchens, Habitat for Humanity home builds, as well as adult and youth workcamps.  A listing of current mission programs and contact information can be found below.

April 10th - 17th, 2010

Our Spring Adult Mission trip this year will stay local. No planes, no trains...just automobiles!
We will be building a handicap accessible apartment for Strengthen Our Sisters (SOS), a network of battered womens' shelters. We are still in the early planning stages - but there will be work for all skill levels.  If you would like more information on how you can participate or support this trip contact:

Hurricane Katrina Relief Work Trip

November 7 - 14, 2009

This will be the seventh (7th) hurricane Katrina work trip sponsored by First Pres Caldwell to the Mississippi Gulf Coast area affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.  Both skilled and unskilled volunteers are welcome.  To qualify, you need to have a servant’s heart, eagerness to work, and a willingness to be transformed by the experience!  Rebuilding efforts continue in the Gulf Coast area, including installation of drywall, roofing, painting, carpentry, etc.

Dates:              November 7 – 14, 2009

Destination:     Camp Victor Ministries, Ocean Springs, MS

We will fly via Continental Airlines to New Orleans, LA, rent minivans, and drive 1-1/2 hours to the camp in Ocean Springs, MS.  An itinerary for the trip may be downloaded using the link below.  This mission trip is open to adults age 18 and above, as well as teens age 16 – 17 accompanied by a parent.

Adult participants will need to download and complete both of the following forms:

  1. FPC Volunteer Registration Form
  2. Camp Victor Volunteer Intake Form

Minors (under age 18) will need to download and complete both of the following forms:

  1. FPC Volunteer Registration Form 
  2. Have parents complete Camp Victor Minor Registration Packet

A participant meeting will be held on November 1, 2009!  Watch for announcements!

The cost of this trip is approximately $550 including airfare, transportation, and camp fees (room & board).  Participants are encouraged to make a mission-directed donation towards the cost of the trip, to The First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell, as they are able.
