Dear Members and Friends of the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell,
We are in the midst of our annual stewardship emphasis, with the theme Changing Lives through Our Stewardship. For those of you who were able to attend a service recently, you have seen videos of your friends in Christ sharing how Worship and Service is changing lives, and how it has changed their lives.
As we approach Pledge Dedication Sunday on November 13th, we will be sharing additional experiences and messages which will show how our Stewardship Commitment is changing lives. Our giving is based on God’s love and his call for us to serve others. Through the Holy Spirit, we become faithful stewards who respond willingly and joyfully to God’s love, goodness, and mercy. Through faith, we are empowered to do as God directs us in 1 Peter 4:10: “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
Over the next few weeks, you will have an opportunity to witness how we are changing lives to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ through: Worship; Nurture and Faith Journey; and Outreach and Service. When you enter the sanctuary for Worship, you can sense God’s presence. Listening to the music touches our souls and fills our hearts. The lessons and sermons inspire and enrich us, and bring home the power of grace, forgiveness and hope.
In our Nurture and Faith Journey, we experience God’s power through Sunday School, Bible study groups, Small Groups, Youth Fellowship, and Church Life. We help and support our church family members through the good times as well as the bad times, and as we nurture and strengthen one another, we in turn are nurtured and strengthened.
And finally, we are transforming the lives of others, through our faith in service beyond ourselves through Outreach and Service. Many of you have been a part of the mission work and witnessed directly the transformative powers of service by feeding the hungry through Soup Kitchen, nurturing the children through Oasis, clothing the poor through our clothing drives, and building homes through Pittsburgh Project. Lives are changed through our service in the name of our Lord.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to continue to change lives without the financial commitment from all of our members.
A financial Pledge Card for 2017 has been mailed to each giving unit within the congregation. After prayerful reflection in all the good things the Lord your God has given to you and your household (DET 26:11), please fill out the card and bring it to worship with you on November 13th. Alternately, you can complete your pledge card online by accessing the church website or by clicking here. And remember, if you pay bills electronically, it is very easy to set up a weekly or monthly recurring payment to the church.
We as a congregation have many blessings. Our blessings go beyond what others could only imagine. God has chosen us as his stewards and grants us the wonderful privilege to serve. We acknowledge that everything in this life is a sacred trust from God.
