CONFESSION

CORPORATE CONFESSION

On this morning of hallelujahs, we confess how human we are, great Emptier of Tombs. We haven’t done any great evil, but we have failed to do good when we had the

chance. We easily accept the witness of the angel in the tomb, but find it difficult to share this good news with our friends and neighbors. Bring us new life, Dazzling God. Where we are tired and stressed, give us the energy to serve your creation; transform our hardened hearts into fountains of grace; forgive us of all the damage we have done, and fill us with the joy of your Spirit.

PERSONAL CONFESSION

In the name of the risen Christ we pray.

Amen.

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

...Friends, believe the good news.

In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

*RESPONSE OF PRAISE NO. 240 (stanza 1)

Alleluia No.1

Alleluia, alleluia! Give thanks to the risen Lord.

Alleluia, alleluia! Give praise to his name.

Jesus is Lord of all the earth.

He is the King of creation.

Alleluia, alleluia! Give thanks to the risen Lord.

Alleluia, alleluia! Give praise to his name.

After the 9:30 service today, volunteers are needed to deliver the Easter Lilies to those unable to attend

today’s service, and those who have recently lost a loved one. This is an easy way to share the good news of Easter. Come to the front of the sanctuary, where members of the Worship Committee will assist you. If your lily memorial designation was to “take home,” the lily will be available after the 9:30 service. Thank you.

†Many thanks to the Chancel Choir, Chancel Handbell Choir and the Children’s Choir who have

provided the wonderful musical selections today. Our instrumentalists are Daniel Urness, trumpet 1 and

leader; Dan Molloy, trumpet 2; Ben Griffin, tenor trombone; Rob Fournier, bass trombone; and Jesse

Gerbasi and Skyler Fortgang, percussion and timpani, Kate Michalowski, flute.

† Thank you to our Session greeters today: Paul Califf and Chris Flanagan.

† Your prayers of intercession are requested for those members and friends known to be currently or recently hospitalized or who continue to need our prayers and support:

...Maggie Bischoff, Harry Coppens, Ray Corbin, Jay Courter, Catherine Fleming, Bill Hartman, Sandra

Harvey, Bill Hayden, Don Hultz, Christopher Kerwin, Edna Lawshe, Dottie Leonard, Marge Lucas, Thelma Mitchell, Sue Olsen, Barbara Piggery, Louise Ritscher, Richard Rose, Erwin Rosin, Barbara Romaine, Bob Scarrillo, Debbie Wefferling, Laura Winter and Helena Wispelwey.

Thank you to all who dedicated the Easter lilies that grace our sanctuary this morning!
