GATHERING
REFLECTION
“There are all
kinds of voices calling you to all different kinds of work, and the problem is
to find out which is the voice of God rather than of society, say, or the
Superego, or Self-Interest.”

CALL TO WORSHIP
Like the tender
parent who supports a child's first steps,
God guides us
along.
Like the loving
grandparent who gathers us into an abundant lap,
God holds us in
our times of need.
Like a lasting
friend who seems to sense our needs,
God is
mysteriously working for good in all our days.
In many ways and
with many faces,
God is loving us.
Hallelujah!

CONFESSION PRAYER
OF CONFESSION
Faithful God,
persistent friend, you weave so many wonderful people into our lives: fathers
and mothers, children and youth, friends and neighbors, teachers and mentors.
Yet do we stop to acknowledge them as blessings from God? Do we say a word of
thanks or whisper a prayer of gratitude?
Have we told our appreciation, written a word of encouragement, sung
their praises? Faithful
God, forgive us for taking anyone for granted. Give us eyes to see the
miracles around us. Give us hearts that
know you care for each and everyone. Give us voices to sing our thanks.
PERSONAL
CONFESSION
In the name of
Jesus, who remains faithful even when we do not, we pray.
Amen.
ASSURANCE OF
FORGIVENESS
...Friends, believe the good news.
In Jesus Christ we
are forgiven.

“I Danced in the
Morning”
Lord of the Dance
I danced in the morning when the world was begun, and I danced in the moon and
the stars and the sun, And I came down from heaven and I danced on the earth;
at Bethlehem I had my birth. Dance, then, wherever you may be; I am the Lord of
the dance, said he, And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be, and I’ll lead
you all in the dance said he.

PRAYERS OF THE
PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father who art
in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth
as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the
glory, forever. Amen.
