CALL TO WORSHIP
(inspired from Micah 6:6-8)
With what shall we
come before the Lord?
What shall we
bring into the presence of our God,
as an expression
of our worship and praise?
Shall we bring him
all that we own—
our finest
possessions, our life-savings,
our investments
and property?
Would God be
satisfied if we brought everything we possess?
No, that’s not
what God is looking for.
God has told you
what is good,
and what God
expects of you:
To do justice.
To love mercy.
To walk humbly
before God.

CONFESSION
CORPORATE PRAYER
Far too often, O
God, we desire to look wise in the eyes of the world. We have not spoken truth
with our hearts. We have said and done hurtful things to our friends. We have forgotten
our true identity, wandering into ways that are not
yours. We have lost the path of true worship, focusing on form and words rather
than deeds. We have forgotten what true discipleship is. And because of this,
you have a quarrel with us.
Forgive us and
help us live into becoming the people you have created and called us to be: people of justice and love and truth and humility, and
yes, even foolishness. May we be fools for Christ, embracing our true identity, even in the face of the world’s scorn and derision.
PERSONAL
CONFESSION
In the name of
Jesus, we pray.
Amen.
ASSURANCE OF
FORGIVENESS
...Friends, believe the good news.
In Jesus Christ we
are forgiven.

“As the Wind Song”
Wairua Tapu
As the wind song
through the trees, as the stirring of the breeze, so it is with the Spirit of
God, as the heart made strangely warm, as the voice within the storm, so it is
with the Spirit of God.
Never seen, ever
known where this wind has blown
bringing life,
bringing power to the world, as the dancing tongues of fire, as the soul’s most
deep desire,
so it is with the
Spirit of God.

Our Father who art
in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth
as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the
glory, forever. Amen.

As the rainbow
after rain, as the hope that’s born again,
so it is with the
Spirit of God,
as the green in
the spring, as a kite on a string,
so it is with the
Spirit of God,
making worlds that
are new, making peace come true,
bringing gifts,
bringing love to the world,
as the rising of
the yeast, as the wine at the feast,
so it is with the
Spirit of God.
