Children And Youth

Jesus welcomed the children and blessed them.  Here at FPC we seek to do the same for our children & youth.

Sunday School

All children ages 5 years old through 6th grade are invited to join us for Sunday School during the 9:30 a.m. Traditional Service. Sunday School children should begin with their families in worship and will be dismissed to their classroom after the Children’s Message.

Cradle Room

Nursery care is provided for infants up to 4 years old in our “Cradle Room.” The Cradle Room is open during the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services and is located on the main floor. The nursery is also open during special services which will be listed in the weekly First Press newsletter. We take pride in providing a safe and loving place for you to leave your precious little ones. On Sunday mornings, there are several adults to work on a rotating schedule to provide care to our youngest church goers.

Acolytes

It’s a very special responsibility to bring the light of Christ into the sanctuary for our services of worship. Children in grades 3-5 are encouraged to participate in this wonderful ministry of light.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is typically hosted each year for one week during the month of August. We’ve been excited to offer this fun-filled week where children can explore the Bible through recreation, music and crafts, and they get to make some new friends along the way! Each year, we have a different theme which takes us on an adventure through the word of God.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a learning opportunity and important step in one’s faith journey where a small group of students is exposed to some of the key teachings of the Christian Faith, the history of the universal church and our local church, the life and work of Jesus, and what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. Confirmation class is available to 7th and 8th grade students every other school year. The curriculum provides youth with a foundational understanding of the Reformed Presbyterian. The program invites young people to explore the meaning of their baptism and their participation at the Lord’s Supper, as well as learn about church polity, stewardship, spiritual practices, worship and mission. Please contact the church office for more information.

Reaching Youth

Reach Over, Reach Up, Reach Out

The purpose of our Youth Ministry at the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell is to reach over to students in our congregation and community, providing a safe, caring and fun environment in order to equip them to reach up – learning about God, challenging them to grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ, and fostering a desire to reach out, providing opportunities to serve others in Jesus’ name and become leaders within the church.
