Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Project 2022

Since 1994, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Holiday has been designated as a national day of service. This year, the First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell and Congregation Agudath Israel are teaming up to invite you to participate in a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Project benefitting the 7th Street Bistro of Memorial West United Presbyterian Church in Newark, New Jersey.


We will be collecting any of the requested items to help stock the food pantry of 7th Street Bistro of Memorial West United Presbyterian Church which will enable 7th Street Bistro to expand their food ministry. Memorial West United Presbyterian Church and The First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell are both members of The Presbytery of Northeast New Jersey.

Requested items:

Pinto Beans, Red Beans, Kidney Beans, Vegetarian Beans Vegetable Soup, Tomato Soup, Cream of Chicken/Mushroom Soup Tuna Fish, Sardines, Pink Salmon, Chicken (canned) Peanut Butter, Grape or Strawberry Jelly/Jam Assorted Canned Fruit (Pears, Pineapple, Peaches Apple Sauce (or Mixed Fruit) Dried Raisins, Cranberries, Craisins, prunes Canned Vegetables: Green Beans, Greens, Peas and Carrots, Corn, Spinach, Mixed Vegetables Sugar, Flour, Hamburger Helper, Cooking Oil Any Canned Juices Jiffy Corn Meal Mix Cold Cereals, Various, Low sugar
Instant Oatmeal, Variety Pack Pop Tarts
Pancake Mix, Syrup (Lite) Pantry/Shelf Milk
Minute Rice, Instant Brown Rice Potato Flakes Spaghetti, Rotini, Pasta Shells, Macaroni Pasta Sauce, any variety, and Diced Tomatoes

Members of both congregations will be stationed outside of First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell (326 Bloomfield Ave, Caldwell, NJ) on circle/staff parking lot to receive drive-by donations:

Times: From 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
